It has been an honor to serve you these past 2 years.

I ask for your vote on November 5, 2024.

As always I am available to discuss city issues with you.

Four Important Reasons To

Elect Carol Engelhardt

1. Thrifty - Looks for ways to save money and find outside revenue

2. Maintains Checks & Balances On Council

3. Protected Fire Department Funding To Keep Your Homes Safe

4. Proven Support Of The General Plan

As a Small City we need Qualified and

Experienced Council Members to deal with complex ongoing issues

that affect YOUR safety and YOUR property values

FIRE PROTECTION - The La Habra Heights fire department is unique in combining paid management with volunteers who, in exchange, receive training allowing them entry into a fire career field. Recent changes in Paramedic staffing requirements have increased the costs and raised challenges to the budget.

SHERIFF - A Council sub committee should be created to review the Sheriff budget, scope of work, terms of the contract and recommend accordingly.

RURAL VALUES - The State legislature continues to enact land use mandates which must be monitored and complied with while retaining, to the maximum extent possible, the spirit of our town.

TIGHT BUDGET - Maintaining our budget in order to remain a viable city requires knowledge of municipal finance, strategic planning, frugality and an understanding of the community's needs and priorities. Inflation and new regulations have increased the costs of paving roads, staffing, and overall operation. In order to maintain a balanced budget it must be continuously monitored and adjusted. I support a new program to seek grant money, if possible, to backfill deficiencies.

RESIDENT INCLUSION - Councilmembers, as agents of the residents, must engage residents to foster a sense of community, elicit their interests and ideas, and encourage volunteerism. As a long time resident whoparticipates in the community, I look forward to continuing connecting with both newcomers and longtime folks.

CITY HALL RESPONSE TIMES - We need to continue to improve in this area. Completely closed down afterCoVid, City Hall must respond, as quickly as feasible, to resident requests. We have broadened communications with an improved Guac Talk and are working to maximize staff efficiency.

Carol Loves the Community

A longstanding resident who chooses to live in a unique beautiful town with an independent group of residents and appreciates those folks.
